Marine Biology Camp Inc. is based in South Florida and is run through various cities and schools. The camp director, Gerard Loisel, has been teaching marine biology to students of all ages for the past 41 years. For the last 26 years, he's been teaching marine biology and oceanography at Nova Southeastern University where he was the College of Arts and Sciences Outstanding Teacher of the Year for 2008-2009. Loisel was also the host of the PBS television series "Marine Aquarium World".
The camps run throughout the summer and during spring and winter breaks. Children attending the camp get to study a sea grass community, explore the intertidal zone, study dangerous marine animals, learn how to tag fish for scientific research, and much more. Field trips include visits to Bill Baggs State Park and the University of Miami's Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Science on Virginia Key. Each camp session is 5 days long and is open to children 8 to 14 years old. The fees are set by each individual city or school and vary based on which city is hosting the camp.  One day camps, private camps, school visits, and after school programs are also available.
